Hi, I’m Tina. I look like this. On a good day. (I usually look way worse, don’t get your hopes up). I’m a Norwegian student who simply loves to travel whenever I can and if you haven’t already figured it out, I’m also the girl behind this travel blog. Welcome to my tiny universe.
About The Name Manhattanite
I don’t actually go by the name Manhattanite. That would be kind of weird, wouldn’t it? The name Manhattanite is just something I came up with when I created my Instagram account back in 2010, right after I moved back to Norway from New York City. And it just stuck with me ever since.
A Blog Is Born
Whenever I’m preparing for a trip to a new destination, travel blogs are the first things I turn to, as there is so much useful information and firsthand experiences that are being shared out there. As I have always enjoyed photography and writing myself, combined with an intense love for travel, I suppose it was only a matter of time before I started a travel blog of my own. My hope is that my experiences may inspire and help a traveler someday in the same way other travelers have helped and inspired me. Besides – I already take pictures like crazy and I write individual travel guides for friends on a weekly basis already – might as well get some use out of them, right?
What Makes This Blog Different?
I enjoy the silence of nature exactly as much as I love exploring vibrant new cities. I love planning a trip as well as being spontaneous. I love combining budget travel and luxury travel the best way I possibly can. I can be a laid back traveler at times, and a little bit of a brat the next moment. The point is that I’m a diverse traveler, which means that there will be a blog post for pretty much any traveler out there on this travel blog. And I really hope you find me worthy enough for you to tag along as I explore this wonderful planet of ours.
